<p>The air handling unit (AHU) represents an important — if not the most important — factor in meeting the performance parameters of a cleanroom. While significant efficiency gains have been achieved in fan technology in recent years, the loss of effectiveness and efficiency caused by leaky air duct systems has been neglected for many years. The focus here lies not only on newly constructed air duct systems (which often fail to achieve the required airtightness class in accordance with DIN EN 16798-3), but above all on already installed air duct systems.
